WILMA J. GRAY

Ms. Gray was born in Ontario, Canada. She received her B.A. degree from Queen’s University in 1984. Ms. Gray worked for five years as an assistant to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, after which she spent five years as Project Manager for the Japanese Canadian Redress Secretariat, within the Secretary of State for the Canadian Government. Ms. Gray received a J.D. from New College of California in 1996 and has been practicing law since being admitted to the California Bar in 1997. Ms. Gray’s first legal job was with this firm, the McNamara Law Firm, and in 2005, she was elevated to partner at the firm now known as McNamara, Ambacher, Wheeler, Hirsig & Gray LLP.

Ms. Gray is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California. In 2011, she was invited to be a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”) and in 2021, she was honored to serve as President of the San Francisco Chapter of ABOTA.

Ms. Gray has tried over 30 cases to verdict and arbitrated 15 cases. She has handled hundreds of cases during her career as an attorney, which have been successfully resolved in mediation or by dismissal from a motion for summary judgment. Ms. Gray has had oral argument before the Court of Appeals in 2002 on a negligence and premises liability case.

Her experience falls mostly in the area of defending cases involving catastrophic construction injury, sports injury, personal injury involving motor vehicle accidents, and slip and fall injury.
