Ms. Billups-Slone obtained her Bachelor degree in 1985 from the University of California, Davis and J.D. in 1990 from Santa Clara University School of Law. She was admitted to the California Bar and is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and is additionally admitted to practice before the United States District Court Central, Eastern and Northern Districts. A member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys and California Medical Legal Committee, Ms. Billups-Slone specializes in medical malpractice defense, representing licensed medical professionals, hospitals, groups and foundations. For over 30 years, Ms. Billups-Slone has successfully defended her clients in numerous jury Trials and in binding Arbitrations. She has argued a vast array of cases and issues before Federal, State and Appellate Courts, resulting in several published decisions. Ms. Billups-Slone has served as a guest lecturer on professional liability topics and has been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer in medical malpractice each year since 2013. She has also been named one of the top women attorneys in California, and is consistently awarded the prestigious AV Rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Ms. Billups-Slone is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
