Maria Zhurnalova-Juppunov obtained her Bachelor Degree in Political Science from the America University in Bulgaria in 1999. In 2007, she graduated as a Doctor of Juridical Science in Comparative Constitutional Law (summa cum laude). She then returned to the American University in Bulgarian as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Political Science Department teaching courses on comparative constitutional law and international law. Ms. Zhurnalova-Juppunov obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2017. Before joining the McNamara law Firm in 2019, she worked for two years as a legal research assistant in the Law and Motion Department of the San Francisco Superior court.

Her practice focuses primarily on civil litigation including medical malpractice defense, personal injury, premises liability, and the representation of public entities. She is a member of the State Bar of California, admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
