Nicholas R. Newman

Nicholas Newman’s practice focuses on civil litigation involving personal injury and landlord tenant habitability matters. He is proud to advocate for individuals, families and property owners during undoubtedly difficult times.

Nicholas joined the McNamara firm in 2022 after graduating law school. In law school he worked in criminal litigation. He clerked at the Santa Cruz and Shasta County District Attorney’s offices and was recruited by professors to help write a criminal law textbook still in use at his alma mater Santa Clara University School of Law. He also received a Cali Award for academic excellence in Criminal Law. It was in his final year of law school that Nicholas took a position clerking at a small civil litigation firm and realized his passion was in serving others and being a zealous advocate for his client’s interests.

Previously Nicholas had studied political science with an emphasis in public policy at the University of California San Diego, where he graduated Cum Laude. While there he interned for the United States Congress 52nd Congressional District, for the Honorable Scott Peters. Nicholas was also recruited as an undergraduate teaching assistant and taught his fellow undergraduates basic coding languages and fundamental principles of statistics for conducting social science research. His passion for learning and teaching others, informs his practice as he advises and guides his clients through the often difficult experience of finding themselves subject to litigation.
